Thanks for visiting my blog, Lovin' From the Oven! My name is Kim, and I'm your typical 24 year old... except for the fact that I act like an 80 year old. You see, I love to bake, scrapbook, craft, and read. If it were up to me, I'd stay home all day with the oven on, giving out desserts by night. That'd be my superhero life.
But since that's a bit unrealistic, I'll tell you the real deal. This is me:
I love to eat. My favorite food would be a good caesar salad and my favorite dessert would definitely be a churro dipped in tons of cinnamon sugar (as pictured above).
I think about food more than the average person. I'm the weird girl at a restaurant that takes pictures of all the food before consuming it. No, it's not because I'm Asian (although it definitely seems like it to spectators), it's because I'm a food blogger (or at least that's my excuse).
I love kids and old people. They both hold the key to my heart because they can put a smile on my face in a nano second, no matter what the situation. I also adore traveling. There is so much to see and explore in the world, and I hope to someday visit it all.
I grew up in Southern California, on the outskirts of Los Angeles. I did my undergrad at UCLA, where I met my dear boyfriend (DB). We have been dating for 3 1/2 years and recently moved in together to Berkeley, where he's currently attending law school.
I majored in Political Science with the intention of becoming a lawyer, but at the end of my junior year, I realized how that path just wasn't for me. I dream of owning my own bakery one day. Until then, I'll be using this blog as an outlet for my kitchen adventures.
So hi, I'm Kim... and that's me in a nutshell. I would love to know a little bit about my readers, if you feel so inclined to let me know about you in the comment area! Thanks for dropping by!

Hi, I am loving just drooling over your posts. I'm just starting to form my blog (pretty much food based). I'm and anthropology major with a ceramics minor right now. Though, I think that I would totally take the opportunity to open a bakery if offered! I love, love, love to cook (learned from my amazingly good cook of a mother). I also love crafts, sewing, art of any kind, travel, and jewelry making. Kind of a bit of everything really. I can wait to read more of your posts! :)
I think the George bush video we made for kuske's class in 7th grade should be to blame for your grandma-habits... :)
Hi! I'm a stay-at-home mom for now, with two little boys. I LOVE reading, too, so much so that I got an M.A. in English Literature. I also LOVE baking - we share the same dream to own a bakery someday! Baking always makes me feel better, and I love giving desserts to friends and family. I just started a blog not too long ago incorporating those three things - baking, books, and babies(www.confectionmom.blogspot.com) to help keep me sane while at-home. :) Thanks for the yummy recipes - I've tried a few and can't wait to try mroe!!!
Hi there far away,
I can't recall how I found your blog but I assume that the first post I read was one about cookies ü
I study journalism so the written word is very dear to me- as is food thought that has nothing to do with my studies unfortunately.
If I could I would love to open a bakery one day too so I fully understand your dream.
Your recipes (I am most interest about the ones including sugar) seem very american to me (by this I mean the ability to transform cookies, cupcakes and brownies into SO MANY different variations) and that is one of the things I love about your blog- the variety.
I'm the kind of kid who loves to have a cookie with her coffee so your cookies recipes are the ones I often drool and end up making.
p.s If you're curious you can go and check out a blog project me and my dear colleague had on a finnish newspaper until this summer. It's written in finnish but with google translator it might give you a hint of the baked goods us finns enjoy ü (http://www.savonsanomat.fi/teemat/kevyet/)
been a long time reader of your blog and i LOVE it. this section is super cute!
I love your blog! I'm glad you added this section. I live in San Bruno so not too far away from you. Would love to meet you someday :) I have been married for 12 years and have 2 kids. I have my own website and work at a dr's office part time. I love to scrapbook, craft and bake. Thanks for sharing your talents!
Hi! I just found your blog and I read your about page and i laughed cause of all the similarities you and I have!
1. being asian
2. taking pictures before eating
3. people probably think it's cause we're asian, but it's really cause we're food bloggers
4. i have the same purse you have in the picture you have with your bf
5. i have cousins outside of LA and i just recently visited Berkeley cause one of cousins went there & i was in SF visiting!
:) can't wait to follow your blog!
Kim, I love your blog! You have the most amazing desserts on there and I find myself roaming around on here for hours before I realize I need to get back to work! I, too, dream of opening a bakery and hope to do something of the sort one day. Happy baking!
I love your blog! This About Me page is nice. I think if we went to school together or met somehow, we'd be good food-making friends. I can't wait until you try and post about Cheeseboard in Berkeley! I've loved everything I've tried there, and I'm pretty picky about my baked food and pizza. I spent my undergrad years there and am SO excited to read your Berkeley posts now that you live there! It's funny because you went from SoCal to Berkeley, and I went from Berkeley to SoCal. SF food is just a 20-min BART ride away too! Hope you're having a blast. You and the DB are cute too. :)
Hi, I am simply drooling over your recipes. I started my own blog in April to inspire young girls and women to establish a healthy and loving relationship with food. I'm currently a Political Science major in college, but I do have a dream of one day doing something more related to baking slash cooking... if I could combine my two loves of food and international social justice... well, let's just say it'd be the perfect world. I can wait to read more of your posts!
Happy cooking,
xo
